Canada-born Nelly Kim Furtado rose to fame when her 2000 debut album “Whoa, Nelly” won her a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for the song “I’m Like a Bird”. The recognition was hardly surprising since Nelly Furtado is popular for her ability to mix genres and sounds to create unique music.
